In December 2017 they swiped right! It was clearly written on Jaqui's profile that she expected for the man the make the first move, but Nick was just so cute she couldn't resist saying the first, "hello". After a couple days of texting and getting to know basic information about each other they planned a dinner date at Zachary's Pizza in Berkeley, CA for December 18th. The date was full of laughter and non stop conversation. It was obviously going very well. They had no idea that this would be their last first date! A couple days passed when they met up again for a memorable sunset at Grizzly Peak, and wine and cheese night at Nick's place. More dates followed: an incredible night bowling where Jaqui beat Nick by 1 point. (If you ask Nick, he will tell you he let Jaqui win), a wine and paint night, The Ice Cream Museum for Jaqui's mom's birthday and movie dates! In February of 2018 Nick's love for the Eagles came at full force! Nick wanted the two of them to take a trip to Philadelphia to watch the Eagles beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl (FLY EAGLES FLY)! This was the trip that changed everything. This was the trip where Nick and Jaqui truly fell in love. They were both certain that after a full weekend together they would need a day or two apart, but they couldn't wait to see each other again. A month later they moved in to a great apartment in Concord, CA together and then after two months they took a leap of faith and moved across the country to New York City. This move, yes very risky, was the best decision they had ever made.

December 18th 2018 rolled around and Jaqui was extremely excited to be celebrating their one year anniversary. (The conversation of marriage had come up from time to time but Nick had convinced Jaqui so much that it was not going to happen for a while, she had no idea what that night had in store). Nick had told Jaqui they were actually going to celebrate the anniversary of a friend of ours at DeLuca's on Staten Island and that we would celebrate their anniversary the next night. The food was good and the conversation was horrible. No one was talking! This was very bizarre considering the group of people they were with were usually the most talkative people. Nick got up toward the end of dinner to go to the bathroom. Their friend, Jen, said to Jaqui, "I know it's only your one year anniversary but I got you a card". Jaqui opened the card and at the bottom it said, "now turn around and look behind you". Slowly turning around, Jaqui saw Nick on one knee and asked, "will you marry me"? The first thing out of Jaqui's mouth was, "ARE YOU SERIOUS"?! Followed quickly by, "YES"!
