Proposal

June 19, 2020

Caleb and I go on walks almost everyday after we both get out of work. It is a time for us to talk about our day, life, and escape the responsibilities that we have at home. We really enjoy that time we have together, and a lot of our best conversations, ideas, and inside jokes are made here. One day, Caleb brought up the invitation that his family gave us to join them in Sedona in the Summer. Having just visited this MAGICAL place last fall, I was sold in a second! Sedona is my favorite place in the entire world, there are so many things about it that I just love. The scenery, the town, the hiking, the food, the VIEWS! The entire time we were there and every day since we left last November, I felt like it’s “our” place, and I couldn't wait to go back... Little did I know, Caleb had something up his sleeve (or in his pocket) to make this place every more special to us for our upcoming trip. We woke up early the first morning to watch the sunrise. It was absolutely breathtaking, and one of the only times of the day when it was bearable to be outdoors (as we were in Sedona during a heat wave! haha). Caleb made the suggestion that we should take sunrise photos the next day at Bell Rock, since it was close to where we were staying, and an easy hike to do in casual clothes. I agreed, and thanked the Lord in that moment for giving me a man that KNOWS ME SO WELL. But I also thought to myself, this is very unlike him, as he is the moaner and groaner when it comes to photos. (But I won't question it!) We had a peaceful hike up the rock and found a secluded place with a picture perfect view of the sunrise. I set up the tripod, and put the camera capture settings to continuously shoot every 3 seconds. In the middle of us taking photos together and being our silly selves while the sun was coming off of the top of the red rocks, Caleb got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. The happiest tears to ever fall down my face happened that day. IT WAS PERFECT!
