When we first began dating and living a block away from each other, this became our morning walk with Nick's new puppy goose! Located in the shadow of the Capitol in downtown Nashville, Bicentennial Capitol Mall gives visitors a taste of Tennessee’s history, natural wonders and serves as a lasting monument to Tennessee’s Bicentennial Celebration, which was June 1, 1996. With just a simple walk in the 11-acre park visitors can experience many facets of Tennessee’s history including a 200-foot granite map of the state, a World War II Memorial, a 95-Bell Carillon, a Pathway of History and the Rivers of Tennessee Fountains. The 11 planters along the Walkway of Counties show native plant species from different regions of the state.

12 South Neighborhood

A half-mile stretch along 12th Avenue South called the 12South neighborhood with a vintage clothing store on one end, a gourmet restaurant on the other, and many unique Nashville businesses in between. One of the most walkable neighborhoods in Nashville, 12South is a shopping and dining destination full of restaurants, coffee houses, bakeries, bars, and boutiques featuring local businesses. It's also home to the iconic “I Believe in Nashville” mural, a popular photo op for visitors.

The Grand Ole Opry is a live country-music radio broadcast originating from Nashville, Tennessee on WSM. It was founded in 1925 and is the longest-running radio broadcast in U.S. history. It attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world and millions of radio and internet listeners.
