It was a hot summer afternoon, and the sun was beaming, burning every inch of my body as I walked back to the library. I decided to escape that insufferable heat and study inside instead. I then walked up to our library Starbucks and ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk and a non-dairy strawberry cold foam. As I walked to my table, I noticed someone new at my friend's table whom I never miss greeting, and she introduced her brother Malcolm who accompanied her to class. He was very nice and gentle and overall very respectful yet flirty. I parted ways and did my usual until it was time to head back to my place. Later that night I saw a hello from an unknown number. I was close to blocking it, thinking it was just spam, but my friend told me that she gave her brother my number when I texted her goodnight. I decided to answer with a hello, then a phone call was initiated, and we talked so much that I went to bed at 3 am. Since that night, we have called before bed until we moved in together. He suggested we meet, and our first date was at a park, yes, in that same insufferable Texas heat. We went to watch the new Minions movie and had dinner at Kona Grill. And many other dates like our first are engraved in my mind, and I am so happy to share this story with you and have y'all become part of the best day in our lives.
