The most perfect carrot cake by Molly Rabideau. Molly and Shannon worked together at Highland Greenhouse last year and immediately bonded over travels, craft nights, and of course houseplants.

Shannon’s parents walked her down the steps onto the dock. Her dress, represents her mother’s side as red symbolizes the color of prosperity, fortune, and celebration in Chinese custom.

Susan, Japhet’s Mom, read an original poem for the ceremony.

Right after the kiss, Lisa sang “Forever Like That” by Ben Rector and Mr. & Mrs. Els began to dance. Photo by a family friend

Thursday morning, Japhet and Scott, Shannon’s Dad, set up the tables and lights for our outdoor meal. As we served the cake, the sound of loons echoed across the lake.

Shannon’s parents quarantined before the ceremony and totally fell in love with the stillness and community surrounded Lovejoy.
