Thank you for considering joining us on our special day. As you may know, we recently got legally wed. Soon after, we went to Jamaica and experienced its welcoming people and amazing landscapes. We decided then that we had to do our wedding in Jamaica and let everyone experience it for themselves. We have rented out a private, all-inclusive villa for all of our guests and we would like to invite everyone to spend 2 days in Jamaica to enjoy the country while celebrating our marriage!

Jonathan and Janyla met in Chicago in June 2020 during the early pandemic. They originally met because Jonathan was learning Russian, having previously worked to train a software team in Minsk. They met in a restaurant on Michigan Avenue across from Grant Park. Janyla ordered a salad, used a straw to drink a beer, and then wouldn't stop eating Jonathan's fries. Their first date was a microcosm of the future. After the restaurant, they tried to walk along Lake Michigan only to find it shut down -- so instead they settled for amusing talks and great skyline views. They fell in love through the chaos of 2020, spending their days learning about each other and dreaming of the future. And that was just the beginning...

Jonathan proposed to Janyla on July 23, 2022. They had already bought a house together in March, but they returned for a single day to downtown Chicago for a stay-cation at The Langham. Jonathan told Janyla they were going to walk to a restaurant along the riverwalk, but when they came to where the north and south branches of the Chicago river meet, Jonathan paused. A passing boat of frat boys, noticing the pause, yelled "Do it already!" So Jonathan knelt and popped the question, and Janyla gracefully accepted. And the rest was history.
