Jannel found me on Tinder and slid into my DM's on Instagram. After messaging for about a month we decided to meet. I drove out to Long Beach and met Jannel at her apartment. We walked around Long Beach and she took me to Berlin for some coffee, we hung out at Fingerprints and lucked into an instore show that may have been Father John Misty, then went to the beach. We talked so much and I mostly laughed at her jokes. We even sang karaoke together, the first song we ever sang together was Bonnie Tyler -Total Eclipse of the Heart and several other eighties hits. After our 12 hour date, we had our first kiss and all the butterflies awoke.
Alyssa and I have been smitten since the first date, however, we did wait two years before moving in together. After moving in together Alyssa was ready to get married but both of us were in school, working at times two jobs and various internships, I felt it was best to wait a bit and just enjoy the new season of cohabitating. Though I wanted to wait a bit to get married, I was ready for us to expand our family with some fur babies. I had to wait four long years until Alyssa agreed. Then we got our little Moz.
I wanted to surprise Jannel with the traditional get down on one knee proposal. She went to Washington to visit her family and I started planning. I bought balloons and decided to create a photo album of our relationship together. Thankfully I had the time and privacy with her being gone so that I can do all that.
I wanted to marry Jannel years ago but she wanted to wait until she was done with school so we could have a ceremony. She graduated in August 2020. Due to the pandemic, Orange County was offering wedding ceremonies at the Honda Center so we eloped at the Honda Center!! I thought it was great because the Honda Center is iconic and now when we go to Ducks games we'll remember ticket box 3 where we were joined in marriage.
Our first fur child. We adopted him from the long beach SPCLA. He was the perfect addition to our little family, occasionally morose and sassy he really embodied his namesake. He crossed the rainbow bridge in September 2020. In October of 2020 we adopted a little black cat, he came with the name Bagheera-Baloo which we kept for him.
