Groom
For the last several years, I knew that I wanted to marry Janna. I was thinking of it as our destination through this journey. I told myself that we would end up getting married eventually. Since being engaged, I've learned that getting married is not the end. As many have said, it's another beginning. On September 28th we will start a new journey together. And I cannot wait for this one to start!
Bride
Marriage to me means being 100% committed. It’s being partners in everything, with grace and forgiveness for each other. Nick has shown me grace time and time again throughout our relationship. I try to do the same. We would not have grown into the people we are together without the support of our friends and family. While I feel we have been partners for a while now, our wedding day will be a promise to each other in front of family, friends and God. I am so excited to live the rest of my life with Nick!
Best Man
Brother of the Groom Being 5 years younger than me, I have always literally considered him my baby brother, but now he’s another little brother that is suddenly bigger than me. Tanner had to deal with always being picked on and teased, which I can honestly blame on Blake. “Tan the Man” has always been a funny kid, but now I do more laughing with him, than at him. I'm really proud of him and seeing how he has matured over the last couple years amazes me. Even though he is tied for being the Best Brother now, he would definitely hold that title solely if in any other family. And we've learned to not pick on him anymore, as evident by a certain Thanksgiving a few years back.
Maid of Honor
Sister of the Bride Once upon a time, I wished for a little sister... Then Hanna happened! While we may not have gotten along when we were younger, we are closer than ever with each year that comes. Now we borrow each other’s clothes, but we give & take each other’s advice as well. I can always convince Hanna to third wheel with me and Nick, whether it’s shopping or dinner or a concert, she will always join without batting an eye. Or like when we all went to see Hamilton and played the soundtrack nonstop afterwards! Just like the Schuyler sisters, years and miles may separate us, but Hanna will always be my sister and I could not have her anywhere else but at my side.
Best Man
Brother of the Groom There are a lot of things I could tell you about Blake. While I've learned to "leave the funny to him", I have also learned plenty of other things as well. When Blake was in grade school, he showed a lot of maturity when he and his friends started to spend time with a special needs boy from their middle school. I remember how proud I was anytime I saw him with Danny. It showed me that he has a kind and accepting heart, without any need for recognition! Despite being a little messy at times, living with him the past two years has allowed me to really see how much he has matured and grown up. He is one of the best brothers and friends I could ask for.
Bridesmaid
Friend of the Bride From rooms next door as freshman, to beds corner-to-corner, and now an apartment in the city, we really are #RoomiesForLife. Audrey and I share a lot of things: a love for ice cream, a birth month (#MarchBabes), currently an apartment, and even though we might not be roommates much longer, we will always feel like family. Audrey enthusiastically pushes me right out of my comfort zone and into having fun. She goes over the top to show she cares, but her generosity in all things makes her such a valuable friend.
Groomsman
Friend of the Groom When I met Drew during my freshman year at Hope, he was the cool kid riding around on his longboard all the time. I remember wanting to be friends with him, with the secret motive that he would help me learn how to board. But while I lived with him for several years, I still don't know how to longboard. Drew quickly became a friend that I knew I would have for the rest of my life. During “pillow talk” one night, I remember bringing Janna up for the first time, telling him how great she was and that I really wanted to ask her out at some point. He helped me muster up the courage to do it and here we are now! This whole day is now happening because of Drew. I'm proud to have him as a friend and hopefully one day I will learn how to longboard!

Friend of the Bride It's been too long now for it to just be a coincidence that we lived in the same cluster and then proceeded to take every art class from then on together. Even if it wasn't the same class, we would stay up all night together in the studio and from late night donut runs to morning art critiques we kept each other sane. (Sometimes she kept me standing if I was too tired!) Stephanie has literally supported me at times and I hope I do the same for her as she moves continents away and back.
Groomsman
Brother of the Bride Dan has literally been around since Janna's birth. He always has the newest gadget and the latest joke. Whether it was Gameboys as kids, or Nespresso and his sous-vide machine now, he has always been willing to share. He has always been a step (or one year & 7 months) ahead of Janna, now she finally gets to do something first!
Bridesmaid
Friend of the Bride We have been friends since I stuck my hand in Danielle's Ugg boot in 9th grade. (For the record, there was a zipper and I thought it was a pocket.) We go WAY back. From high school hangouts to college phone calls and spring breaks, long-distance friendship became our bread n' butter. A love for culture, music, and food cultivated our friendship over shared experiences and laughs. Finally roomies in northside Chicago, Danielle has shown me what there is to love about this city, but the best thing in Chicago might just be her.
