Our story

The phrase “When you know, you know” has always been one that has never made much sense until Shriram and I met. It is definitely a matchmake we owe to both Aamad, Niral and Tulsi. It happened after a wedding in North Carolina, where one of Shri’s good friends, Aamad, wanted to find Shri a cultured Gujurati girl. Aamad found it the perfect opportunity to ask if Tulsi and Niral both knew of anyone looking to marry. Niral was excited to share that his future and now present Sister-in-law was definitely looking! Instagrams were shown and phone numbers were shared, with little to no idea if this would turn into anything more. I would say Shriram and I, also had little to no idea, that the two of us meeting for the first time would be god’s gift. Our first date (12/11/21) was magical in a way neither one of us expected. Our date was a quick visit, where I took Shriram to all my favorite places, thinking I would enjoy his company more being in a restaurant where the food and ambiance was best. But, I soon realized I didn’t care being in a crowded restaurant, I just cared about spending more time with him. It was a feeling I never felt before. I knew he also felt the same. We spent the following year having a long distance relationship. It took that much time to realize I needed to move to Indiana and also become closer to his family. Fast forward to February 20, 2024, Shriram finally proposes to me in Cabo, Mexico with a surprise close family engagement that weekend. What can I say, when you know, he knows. ;) It is definitely a blessing that we now can share our love story with all of you in the place we found it! After our engagement, it was evident to us that Mexico has a special place in both of our hearts (not to mention Mexican food)! We cannot wait to celebrate with all the special people that have brought us to this moment. Our only ask from you all is to enjoy as much as possible because this celebration is just as much yours as it is ours! Love, Shriram and Janki
