We're getting married!

After one photoshoot in April, I posted a photo to my Instagram and didn’t think much of it. Well, that particular photo caught the attention of a certain guy. That guy was of course Dilan. He later added me on Snapchat. His opening line was that he saw my latest Instagram post and that I shouldn’t delete him. We started talking all the time and the connection was undeniable. After a few months passed, Dilan came to visit me, and we started dating. We learned that we shared similar tastes in food, drinks, music, and values in life. We had so much in common that neither of us could believe it. Everything was gradual and easy. That's pretty much when we thought, "Okay, this could be something."

Something that Dilan and I share a love for is traveling. We love traveling together so we went on several trips together throughout our relationship. At this point, Dilan and I had talked about engagement, but I had no idea when or where he was going to ask me. We took a family trip to Napa, California. Napa seemed like the perfect place for him to propose. We planned to tour several staple wineries while there and I’ll admit, I half expected him to propose at one of them. I was eager each morning because I would wonder to myself “Is this the day?!” Now, Dilan and I loved walking, sipping wine, and exploring the vineyards. One day we visited Castello– a stunning winery that resembles a castle with breathtaking views of the vineyard. We were taking a walk at Castello and enjoying the scenery. Since we usually walked around casually at every winery we visited prior to the Castello, I thought nothing of it. I thought it was perfectly normal. As we were walking, we went inside the vineyard. All of a sudden, Dilan got down on one knee, right next to the grapes. He pulled out a ring and asked me to marry him. I hardly realized what was happening because the next thing I knew, a photographer popped out of nowhere and I was engaged. I was impressed that Dilan pulled off the surprise and that he planned such a memorable proposal. It was special because it was just us, but also perfect because our families were close by to celebrate with us.
