Flight
When traveling to Germany, we suggest flying to Hamburg or Berlin. The flight to Germany is a red-eye, so consider flying in the evening to get some sleep. We also suggest arriving at least a couple of days early to manage jetlag. Consider spending these days in Berlin or Hamburg, as both cities offer excellent tourist attractions. We provide select travel highlights in the "Things To Do" section.
Travel Note
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Alex or Rachel. We highly recommend using WhatsApp while in Germany.
Rental Car
You can rent a vehice from many commonly known companies. Your US driver's license is valid in Germany. Please note that an international driving permit is recommended. Side-notes about driving in Germany: - Driving on the same side of the road - No turns on red - The Authobahn has no speed limit (on some sections). If you don't actively pass someone, move to the right lane - Intersections without traffic signs follow right-hand rule, where the vehicle from the right side has the right of way - Speeding violations are photo-enforced with well-hidden cameras. If you see a red flashing light, you'll know :(
Train
Berlin and Hamburg offer rexcellent public transport. If you stay within these regions, you can use trains and buses for almost all of your commute. For longer distance travel, please note that the trains often run delayed, so do not book the last train connection of the day.
