In 2016, Vince started working as a medical scribe at Palomar Medical Center's Emergency Department. It was there where he met fellow scribe and trainer, Janine. They formed a friendship built on obnoxious Instagram memes, Mean Girl references, funny jokes, and a shared ambition to help others.

It was the summer of 2018, and Vince invited Janine and a few friends to Lake Havasu, Arizona. The weekend was filled with quirky boat adventures, tubing, board games, and a late-night star-gazing conversation that made Vince and Janine realize that they can be more than friends.

Vince and Janine's first date took place on June 21, 2018. They had sushi, went line dancing, got gelatos, and ended their evening at Coronado Beach watching stars on the lifeguard tower. Their first date lasted 8 hours! Since then, the pair have been inseparable. On February 26, 2022, after almost 4-years together, Vince proposed on the very beach where they had their first date.
