One of our favorite spots - Level is a small plates, farm to table lounge. All dining selections use seasonal ingredients and the cocktails are made with only homemade ingredients - the Level Gimlet and Bourbonapolis are especially to die for. And if they happen to have the Fried Brussel Sprouts - literally order 2 portions - you won't regret it! Reservations are recommended.
Eastport is a wonderful little neighborhood in Annapolis - although the locals will swear they're NOT Annapolitans - and Vin is one of the best places around to eat. Be wary that they do not take reservations and diners typically line up outside for a table before they open for dinner at 5:30. However, it's worth the wait and you can always sip on one of their carefully selected wines, microbrews or cocktails while you wait. If you go, please do yourself a favor and have the heirloom tomato and mozzarella for an appetizer and the butterscotch pudding for dessert. You'll thank us later.
Another Eastport favorite and featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives - Davis's Pub is a small, local hangout with a to-die-for crab dip pretzel and pulled pork sandwich. Grab a cold beer, a picnic table outside and treat yourself to a laid back lunch or dinner within steps of the Annapolis waterfront.
In the mood for sushi? If so, you can't pass up Joss while visiting Annapolis. Joss used to be a hole in the wall spot on Main Street and expanded within the last few years to accommodate their adoring fans. There's something for everyone here and be sure to stop in if you need your nigiri fix.
Iron Rooster's chicken and biscuits and homemade pop starts will actually make you want to cry with joy - and then go take a nap. They serve breakfast all day and are just the spot to stop in for a home cooked meal.
You really can't go wrong with Boatyard - there is something for everyone on the menu and it is all SO GOOD. We could name dozens of our favorite dishes - but be sure to grab some oysters, a crispy goat cheese salad, crab cakes or the open faced crab dip sandwich. I repeat, do NOT forget the open faced crab dip sandwich....
Weather permitting, this is one of our favorite spots to sit out on the deck and enjoy a great meal. Don't pass up the cream of crab soup if you stop in! And if you have time to spare, you can catch the water taxi right next door for $2 to drop you off across the river on Ego Alley.
Not looking for a sit down dinner? Hungover and want something delicious, quick and easy? Eastport Kitchen has great sandwiches, salads and soups. The Chicken & the Egg will kill your hangover and the Binky will make you feel like you're trying to be healthy :)
A trip to Annapolis wouldn't be complete without a Pusser's Painkiller - but don't say we didn't warn you that side effects include horrible dancing and the occasional dip into Ego Alley.
Want to live out the real "Wedding Crashers" experience? Book a tour cruise with Schooner Woodwind and enjoy a gorgeous cruise on the Severn River - I've heard they may even put you to work if you don't behave.
