The Danbury Railway Museum is a fully restored train station, built in 1903, and houses a collection of historically significant artifacts and a research library covering railroading’s rich heritage. Just behind the station is an extensive rail yard, featuring over 60 pieces of historic railroad equipment and rolling stock. They also offer tours of their railyard from the comfort of a seat in a vintage coach, historic caboose, or even the cab of the locomotive.
Danbury Fair ranks as one of New England’s largest shopping centers, offering the area’s finest collection of shops, dining, and entertainment.
There are towns nearby with great downtown areas to walk, shop, and eat. These include Ridgefield and New Milford (the inspiration for Stars Hollow in Gilmore Girls).
