Cynthia Cornell Novak

Officiant

Janice and Nate are extremely grateful that Nate's aunt, Cynthia Cornell Novak, has agreed to officiate their wedding in September. Every so often, you meet someone who radiates joy and embraces life with meaning and purpose - Aunt Cindy is that person. Growing up, Nate always enthusiastically awaited her visits to New Jersey from Malibu, CA and as he got older, regularly sought time together with his aunt and cousin's, Laura and Alison, and their beautiful families. Early on in their relationship, Nate took Janice to meet his aunt on the first of many eventual trips to Southern California where they took in the beach, drove down the PCH and repeatedly asked themselves, "Why don't we live here, again?". In 2019, Janice and Aunt Cindy's European travel plans overlapped so the two met in Paris - working their way through the city's cafes and local shops. In seeking someone to officiate their wedding, Janice and Nate looked no farther than Aunt Cindy as she is someone who has always been a source of inspiration and guidance. Janice and Nate are filled with gratitude that Aunt Cindy will be standing with them in September.

Laura Reynolds

Matron of Honor

The host and sole member of Janice's Party Planning Committee, Laura is the best big sis a girl could ask for. With impeccable organizational skills, a knack for finding great gifts and boundless energy, Laura is the go-to host and has played a huge role in planning and organizing many parts of this wedding - including our honeymoon!

Greg McCutcheon

Best Man

As far as older brother's go, Greg is the best. Sure, Greg and Nate had their share of brotherly quarrels growing up, but when Greg left for college Nate truly realized how much his brother meant to him. As Nate gets older, he tries to emulate his brother's greatest qualities - fiercely loyal to family and friends, confident to speak his mind and boldly independent. Nate couldn't imagine anyone else up there next to him in September and is so excited that Nate and Janice get to share in their special day with Greg and his loving wife, Kate. We love you both so much!

Kristine Fisher

Bridesmaid

While Kris is *technically* Janice's cousin, she's more of a sister. The life of the party and a massive Iowa Hawkeye fan, no one loves a dive bar and a live band more than this girl. Not only does she know how to have a good time, but is a go-to for life, fashion and travel advice.

Lincoln Wesley

Groomsman

Paired as freshman year roommates at Connecticut College, the two bonded instantly and began a lifelong bromance. From enduring Nate's many tirades about girls, politics and hockey to nursing him back to health after a broken leg, to ultimately supporting Nate's move from NYC to Chicago - Lincoln demonstrates all the qualities of a best friend. Despite living many miles apart, Nate and Janice are so grateful for the time that they do get to spend w/ Lincoln and his wonderful fiancé Jane and look forward to the many good times ahead (summer 2023!).

Laura Jordan

Bridesmaid

Laura and Janice met in kindergarten, which qualifies her as Janice's first friend. While Laura would be honing her hockey skills, Janice would be testing every rink's mozzarella sticks for quality control. Growing up, we would constantly be performing for anyone who would watch. So all in all, not much has changed between these two!

Brad Kieber

Groomsman

Brad has been jacking Nate's swag since 2012 when they met on their first day of work at Huron. In just a few months the two developed a deep friendship and within a year uprooted their lives from Charlotte and New York City to live together in Chicago. His quick wit, unrivaled loyalty and ability to put his needs second to his friends, makes Brad an amazing best friend. Nate and Janice are so lucky to have friends like Brad and his amazing wife Sam in Chicago and we are so excited that their beautiful kids, Max and Olive, get to be a part of our wedding as well!

Vanessa Spallone Bitter

Bridesmaid

Vanessa still remembers every Poms dance her and Janice did in High School, but that is not the only remarkable thing about her. There is truly no one with a bigger heart (and arguably, better memory!) than Vanessa, she always goes above and beyond for the people in her life.

Clay Heinzel-Nelson

Groomsman

Nate knew he was gaining a friend in Clay when he and his family moved in next door, but little did he know it would be a best friend for life. Whether it was epic soccer matches in the back yard, sprinting to school in the morning because one of us overslept (Clay), or building tree forts in the woods behind our houses, Nate's childhood memories almost always include Clay. As they got older, Clay and Nate's friendship matured too with serious conversations about what they sought in a partner, careers they wanted to pursue and business ventures they dreamed of starting. Clay is one of Nate's oldest and best friends and he is so thankful for having him in his life and next to him on his special day.

Stephanie Butler

Bridesmaid

Stephanie and Janice met through LJ in Middle School then tore up the town during their years at DePaul together before becoming roommates with LJ at the aptly titled apartment named the Lions Den. A mama to be, Stephanie is a math whiz who will one day tutor our kids so they can be just as smart as her.

Terrence Daly

Groomsman

While Nate and Terrence's time at Peddie overlapped, it was their mutual friendship w/ Clay that brought them together and their shared values and common interests that bonded them for life. Terrence's affable mom and dad always welcomed Nate to their home which often included long strolls on Hill Road, gatherings (aka Daly Fests) in the dead of summer and heated games of Risk in the basement. Nate considers Terrence one of the most genuine and authentic people he knows - someone who modestly marches to the beat of his own drum, but makes it look cool enough that you want in no matter what it is. Nate is incredibly lucky to have a best friend like Terrence and while they no longer live nearby they make the most of the time they do get to spend together.

Patrick (PJ) Jackson

Groomsman

For 20+ years, the nickname "Old Man Cornell" followed Nate wherever he went; however, that all changed in 2012 when he met an even older soul, Patrick. From the very start, Nate could tell Patrick was unique - not because of his strange infatuation w/ birds or eclectic dance moves - but because his kindness and generosity know no bounds. Nate considers PJ one of his best friends and he and Janice are so incredibly grateful to have him and his wonderful fiancé, Alex, close by in Chicago and can't wait to celebrate their wedding in October 2022.

Matt Reynolds

Groomsman

When it comes to his future brother in-law, Matt, Nate hit the jackpot. The two of them have developed a friendship that goes beyond "a relative by marriage.”Stemming from Matt's unmatched generosity - by including Nate in outings w/ his amiable brother and lively group of friends, to insisting on the next round of beers over a Hawks games - Nate is extremely lucky to have Matt as a brother in-law. Both Matt and his wife, Laura, have felt like family since day one and Nate is so excited to make it a reality in September!

Liam Jaeger

Groomsman

Liam and Nate met towards the tail end of high-school and bonded instantly over their shared interests in politics, similar taste in music and resolve for managing Clay and Terrence's unchecked bravado. Their friendship only strengthened as the years went on - especially in the summer of 2008 - as the two along w/ Clay and Terrence drove 9,000 miles in 28 days from NJ to CA and back generating memories to last a lifetime. Liam remains one of Nate's most closest friends and he is so grateful to have him in his life and by his side in September.

Cheston Laursen

Groomsman

Like Brad and Patrick, Nate also met Cheston within the first month of working at Huron and instantly became friends. The two shared long car rides to the same client site in rural Wisconsin providing them ample time to share stories, swap music and quickly realize they had a lot in common despite growing up in opposite parts of the country. Nate considers Cheston’s one of his closest friends and someone who he has shared a lot of cherished memories with - especially when they both lived with Brad in Wrigleyville. While Nate and Janice don't get to see Cheston and his wife Stephanie enough, they look forward to more fun adventures, like their incredible time together celebrating their marriage in Hawaii last September.

Flower Girl

Our niece Reagan has been prepping for this moment for her whole life (15 months to be exact) and even has the shades to prove it!
