Wedding Party

A few words about our wedding party:

Sharon

Matron of Honor

BFFs for half our lives, she continues to be a constant inspiration in my life. She is the hostess with the mostest and the one to always offer a different perspective. I’m still recovering from her cross-country move, but no matter where we are in life – she will always be part of what defines “home” for me.

Chris

Best Man

Chris and I became friends through music and martial arts. We both played violin in varsity orchestra our senior year and reached peak music snob status in college as we attended shows and saw our favorite bands “before they were cool”. He was also the one who introduced me to Jiu Jitsu, in my head it looked similar to that scene from the movie Stepbrothers (“You want to go do Karate in the Garage?!”). Even though things are a little busier these days, we still try to find time to beat each other up in the garage and share new music finds.

Sarah

Bridesmaid

We haven’t lived in the same country for over 10 years, but our connection remains stronger than ever. We’ve reunited in the most amazing countries around the world, creating memories of a lifetime to tell our grandchildren. Our list of inside jokes run deep, but our love for each other run deeper. Need someone to chug Red Bulls with you before kayaking? She’s your girl.

David

Groomsman

Taco connoisseur, comic book aficionado, and possessor of infinite pop culture knowledge. Over the course of our friendship there has been many an occasion that David and I have debated over carne asada and horchata, which franchise would mash up best with Fast and the Furious (would definitely watch Fast 2 the Future), what superpower we’d like to have (teleportation for me), and why Toby Mcguire’s Spiderman 2 was actually a decent movie. Turns out David’s superpower is friendship (aww).

Joyce

Bridesmaid

My little sister - she used to make me call her “little mermaid”, but now she’s known to everyone as “May”. When we were younger, she would always steal my clothes and then get into the biggest fights ever. But nowadays, I find myself taking her clothes and even taking her advice.

Ryan

Groomsman

I first met Ryan in middle school. By the 7th or 8th grade he was already the best dressed dude I know. At the time it meant that he wore a polo shirt occasionally—this blew my mind. We became friends by sitting next to each other in the back row of the class room and goofing around. We’ve grown up some over time and Ryan’s wardrobe has evolved past polo shirts, but he’s still the most GQ guy I know. Seriously though, who else can pull off white pants?

Pam

Bridesmaid

The best travel partner and roommate I could ask for. We lived together for 4 years in college and have since experienced many of our highs and lows together. She has a huge heart and is never afraid to speak her mind with me. From crossing things off of our LA bucket list, to traveling to the most beautiful countries and seeing countless broadway shows and concerts, she always knows how to have fun…as long as she’s in bed by 10pm.

Cornelius

Groomsman

Corn’s full name is Cornelius Phanthanh and when I first met him I thought he was giving me a fake name. Back in the day we used to try and breakdance in my living room. I was on a mission to learn the windmill and Corn was figuring out the six step. Even though we haven’t been able to hang out as much in the last few years, we always pick up where we left off. I can always count on Corn for some interesting stories about his travels and to be a partner if we are ever pulled into a breakdance battle.

Nini

Bridesmaid

We studied abroad together in England, and have been going on crazy adventures since. Somehow we always make it out alive, and then sign ourselves up for the next crazy adventure. The biggest Disney fan and a fellow nature lover – she is the most positive and energetic person even on zero hours of sleep. Love her to the crescent moon and back.

Elijah

Groomsman

Eternal Charger’s fan and always the pre-season optimist that “this season” is the one where the Chargers win the Superbowl. Eli is a loyal Chargers fan and jumps on no bandwagons. In the same way Eli is also a loyal friend. If I ever need somebody to discuss a conspiracy theory with, Eli is my go to. He also consistently provides a different point of view on things and his perspective always reminds me to keep an open mind. So who knows, maybe this season really is THE season, go Chargers!

For all the days along the way
