2020. What a year, am I right? We are so very happy that we went through with our ceremony and showed that love isn’t cancelled. It was such a beautiful day, and we truly appreciate each and every one of you tuning in for it. Justin and I have been thinking long and hard about our reception. As you all know, we postponed it to 9/27/2020, thinking that Coronavirus would have been long gone by then. Unfortunately, it isn’t. With the restrictions in place on large gatherings, like masks and possible limitations on dancing and hugging (y’all know Justin wanted to bust a move at this reception), along with the fact that about half of our guests would be traveling from out of town, we have decided to cancel our reception. We would rather wait until everyone can travel here safely to celebrate and we are able to have the big party we had in mind. We are also looking into buying our first home right now, and we feel that using the reception money for that instead makes more sense for us at this time (have you seen SoCal home prices?!) We hope to find the perfect first home, with a nice big(ish) yard – that way, next year we can have a housewarming/postponed reception/anniversary celebration, and all of you can come and celebrate then!! Thank you for being a part of our 2020 Coronavirus Wedding. It wasn’t what we planned, but boy was it memorable! Thank you to everyone who sent gifts, love, and good vibes for our big day. Hopefully we will see you all in 2021! ❤️ #JANHITCHED2020
Hi Everyone! Just checking in as we are only a little over 2 WEEKS away from our big (little) day!!! We are so very excited, and the planning is all coming together now. We have had a slight change in that we are not able to have our ceremony at Marina Village because the venue is closed and unable to accommodate any gatherings. Instead, we will be saying “I Do” at Nonna’s house, on her patio. We’ve got the decorations ready to go and are going to make it our own little venue 😊 We are still keeping an eye on the state regulations for our postponed reception date in September and will be sure to keep everyone updated as we get closer to the date. We hope that we will still be able to have the big party we’ve been planning for, but we also want to be sure to consider everyone’s health and safety since many guests do live out of town. Be sure to tune in on 5/24 at 5:25PM PDT for the ceremony! We are looking forward to virtually sharing this big day with you all!! As a side note, we have received some questions regarding our registry and where to send gifts. We will attach the link to our registry here for easy access: https://www.zola.com/wedding/janhitched2020/registry Gifts automatically send to Nonna’s house but if you would like the address it is: 825 Lura Ave. El Cajon, CA 92020.
Hi All!! Sarah and Justin here. This post is quite difficult to write, and we’ve started over about 20 times by this point. But, we will cut to the chase and let you all know that we have made the decision today to postpone our wedding, because we aren’t ready to get married yet…. HA y’all know it’s because of the coronavirus. But seriously, this was a really difficult decision for us. We wouldn’t feel right asking everyone to travel and put themselves at risk to celebrate our day, so we feel as if this is the best decision. That being said, we honestly cannot wait to marry each other and have decided that we will still get married on our original date, 5/24/2020, with a much smaller ceremony consisting of our immediate family. But, since it is 2020, we plan to bring it to you all via Facebook Live! So, please be sure to tune in on Facebook on 5/24/2020 at 5:30PM PST to watch us take this next step together. Our reception will take place on 9/27/2020 at 6PM, in the Bayview Room at the Marina Village Conference Center here in San Diego. We hope that this new date will work for all of you as well, and that you’ll be able to come and celebrate our marriage with us. We appreciate your understanding during this unprecedented time and cannot wait to celebrate this awesome next chapter of our lives with you. We will be resetting RSVPs on our wedding website as well as updating it to show the new information. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out to either of us. We are so thankful for each and every one of you, and hope that everyone is staying safe & healthy. Thank you, and stay healthy!!
"It all began on Tinder in May 2015. Call it fate or pure luck, Sarah and Justin both swiped right! On the first date, Justin knew Sarah was the one when she ate an entire California Burrito with no shame (okay, maybe that's not when he knew). Sarah was working for Disney Cruise Line at the time and although they had strong feelings for each other, they decided it was best not to get into anything too serious. They kept in touch and after a year of on-again, off-again dating, they decided to take the plunge! For the first year of their relationship, Sarah lived and worked on the ship, but would see Justin when she came home, in between contracts. Eventually, they decided if they really were going to do this thing, it would help to live in the same place! Sarah left the cruise line to move to San Diego and they got an apartment, starting their lives together at last. After dating for three years and living together for two, Justin planned an exciting camping trip to Yosemite National Park. He told Sarah's friends how "memorable" it was going to be with a little wink (Sarah had NO idea...) They were incredibly blessed to snag the best camp spot in Yosemite Valley, overlooking the beautiful Merced River and Yosemite Falls. Before a hike on their second day, Justin suggested a photo in front of the falls. He propped his camera on the picnic table, set up the timer, and counted down. When it came time to say cheese, Justin got down on one knee and asked Sarah to marry him. She, of course, said YES!" We are so excited to be starting on this journey together as husband and wife, and cannot wait for all of our friends to come and celebrate with us! Get ready for a fun night, filled with love, laughter, and Justin's pristine dance moves!
