We Tied the Knot!

Jan and Freddy met during the fall of their freshman year at The University of Texas at Austin through a group of friends. Over time, their friendship blossomed into a relationship built on shared car rides, movies, social events, and study sessions. The next year, Freddy faced an important test — meeting Jan’s dog, Pax. To everyone’s delight, Pax adored Freddy and now considers him his favorite person. Throughout the remainder of college, they grew together while navigating exams (of course), boil-water notices, long-distance stretches, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the infamous Snowmageddon. In the summer of 2022, Jan and Freddy moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where Freddy began law school, and Jan started her career as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, continuing her passion for working with children. After several years of hard work, Freddy joined the Air Force as a Judge Advocate. In the summer of 2024, during an intimate hike in their favorite place, Freddy knelt down under the pretense of checking something in Pax’s paw — and instead asked Jan to spend the rest of their lives together. She said yes! Surrounded by immediate family, Jan and Freddy were married at the Wisconsin State Capitol on January 6, 2025. The rest of their story is still being written...
