In 2011, Janet was a student at UC Santa Barbara while Chris was studying at San Diego State. Coincidentally, they both attended the same out-of-town concert on Halloween that year and kept in touch afterwards. After college, Chris moved to LA which was close to Janet's hometown, and found himself going to all the same quirky LA events as she was. They started dating in 2017, doing fun things in and around Los Angeles, and spent a majority of their time together (mostly spent spoiling Apollo with treats). After many trips, locally, nationally, and internationally, they decided to embark on a new journey by moving in together in October of 2019 in Pasadena. While quarantine was a time of uncertainty for many, Chris knew Janet was a catch and proposed to her on August 28th, 2020 at Descanso Gardens.
