Three years ago, both our lives were changing in a big way. Janessa had just moved back to the Bay Area to start a new job, and Schuyler was settling into his new life in San Francisco. Believe it or not, it started with a Bumble swipe. We'd decided to meet for the first time at a rooftop bar in the city called 620 Jones. Unsure if Schuyler had arrived yet, Janessa jumped in line when she'd gotten to the bar. She instantly knew she'd found the man she was meeting when she felt two huge arms embrace her from behind, and she looked up to see Schuyler's enormous smile. He says he was just glad he wasn't being cat-fished. We spent the next four hours talking on an outdoor ledge (620 Jones was jam-packed that night), and when it was time to go, Schuyler walked Janessa home. On that walk home we talked about which of our family members we knew the other would love one day and which would be more likely to give them a hard time. The next day, we met again for a fleet-week watch party, where Janessa first met some of Schuyler's close friends. We went horseback riding the following weekend, where we passed a huge field of sunflowers and Janessa mentioned how much she loved them. Within a month, we became an 'official' couple. Schuyler had carefully planned out this night - he'd made reservations at a popular sushi restaurant in San Francisco, brought a bouquet of white flowers, and worn a spiffy white button down. We later went to his apartment where Schuyler told Janessa to meet him on his building's rooftop. A few minutes later, Schuyler walked up holding something behind his back. He pulled a bouquet of sunflowers from behind him, told Janessa she'd always be his sunflower, and asked her to be his girlfriend. We knew we'd both found the person we'd been praying for for years.
