Like all great modern love stories, ours began online (just take a guess at which site...no seriously, guess). What started as a simple online match quickly turned into something that we could have only hoped and prayed for. At the time, Janae was living in Orange County and Erick was living in Arizona and planning to move back to southern California. Two states apart, but somehow only a message away. After weeks of texting and talking on the phone, it was time for Janerick to meet in person. We chose Balboa Pier for our first date, with the ocean and summer sunset as our backdrop and a bag of Dots pretzels as our fancy snack of choice. As the sun dipped into the horizon while we exchanged stories of her classroom tales and his tattoo inspirations, we realized this was the start of something special. That summer became our favorite chapter - filled with ping pong tournaments, late night rounds of 20 questions by the firepits, and plenty of kitchen experiments trying new recipes where we laughed just as much as we cooked (and occasionally baked culinary masterpieces we were proud of). Between the sunsets, laughter, and endless batches of snickerdoodle cookies, love blossomed. And now, we are ready to start our next chapter, this time as husband and wife.
