Our Wedding

(edited by both Travis and Janelle) There they were - some night many, many years ago. Janelle, a bartender at PumpHouse in Victoria, TX. Travis, a very annoying yet remarkably charming sports broadcaster at KAVU in Victoria. He walked into the bar with several co-workers. He asked that bartender for a Fat Tire on tap. The tap was empty, so Janelle told Travis he could have it in a bottle (in a very condescending way, mind you). Obviously, this wasn't good enough for Travis. He continued to complain about how the beer would be so much better on tap - and he probably asked for a discount - which Janelle ignored (but he eventually got (no he didn’t)). She found him highly obnoxious but still couldn’t resist that dumb face. And although this moody bartender did not provide any semblance of service, Travis - being selfless in so many ways - still left a huge tip and went home. Janelle closed out the bar, both of them happy to never see each other again (except Janelle because she was in love with me from day one, no question). But fates aligned a few weeks later. Much to Travis's surprise (and Janelle's fortune), Janelle showed up at KAVU to start her brand new job. Her desk was right behind Travis's. The first thing he did was apologize - something that would become a trend over the next decade. Then, he asked for some of the tip money back. The rest is history.
