We are getting hitched!

Janel and Cam met through online dating in the Fall of 2020, during the height of the Pandemic. At the start, they spoke for hours over Face-time calls where they lost track of time connecting over their love of art, tattoos, music, fashion, travel, movies the importance of connection, love and community. Janel isn't much for small-talk and wasted no time; asking intentional questions about beliefs, values, ambitions, and life experiences. Cam was amazed at how quickly and genuinely they connected. Neither of them had experienced such open and comfortable communication, and clear understanding of each other before. After a few weeks, they decided to meet in person, after establishing an understanding of each other's boundaries and comfort. What was meant to be a quick introduction turned into a 12 hour date, all while wearing masks. They explored the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, went record shopping, and took a scenic car ride where they listened to music and lost track of time in endless conversations. A few days later, Cam asked Janel to make things "exclusive" on September 22nd, 2020, and the two have been happily together ever since. Cam and Janel began to build a life together based on love, shared values, goals, and support. They share the belief in the importance of building lasting connections with friends and family; especially when times are hard. Through the years, they have faced a number of challenges together. Throughout the ups and downs of Janel's dad being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, full-time caretaking for Janel's dad, Janel's mom surviving cancer, Janel's own health struggles; Cam has been a truly incredible and amazing support to Janel. In a world that changes so rapidly and without warning, the couple have remained each other's rock; showing up for each other in the ways that matter. On September 25th, 2022, with some help from friends and family, Cam surprised Janel and proposed to her at one of their favorite picnic sites. He then planned a getaway to a vintage 1960's cabin where the two enjoyed a celebratory weekend together. On February 6th, 2023, while on a day-date at the site of their very first date, The Minneapolis Institute of Art, Janel surprised Cam by proposing back to him. He, of course, said yes. As they approach their big day, the two now share big dreams; like one day owning a home with a yard for their pup, Bandit. They want to travel together, as they have put this on hold to handle all of the challenges they have faced. They want to continue growing and nurturing their relationships with their family, friends, and their community; anyone that knows them knows how important the people in their life are to them, and how much they value connection and their loved ones. They also want to continue tattooing together; inspiring and learning from each other. Their future is exciting, filled with big goals, dreams that they cant wait to make happen and share. They will continue to love, support and show up for each other, in happiness and hard times because they are life parters, best friends, and love each other so deeply.
