It all started with a “triple take.” We met while working together at the hospital, where we had the privilege of putting smiles on our patients’ faces and brightening their days. It didn’t take long to notice how caring and passionate we both were—not just toward our patients, but toward life itself. As time passed, our connection grew beyond the hospital walls. We began spending time together outside of work, and that’s when the laughs, love, and adventures truly began. Fast forward a few years, and Zabdiel had something special planned. He cleverly insisted I get my nails done (smart man!), knowing what was to come. He sent me on a heartfelt scavenger hunt around our hometown, with stops at the homes of our best friends, his goddaughters, and his brother. The final stop was with my grandpa at Our Lady of Lourdes—the very church where generations of my family, from my parents to my great-grandparents, had been married. It was there, in that sacred and sentimental place, that Zabdiel got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
