Question

What about gifts?

Answer

Please keep in mind that, whether in Alaska or Vermont, we live (or will soon live) in very small homes, and don't have much excess space for new things. What we want most from our wedding is to gather, hang out, and celebrate with everyone we love. Your presence in Vermont is the best gift you can give! We understand that (mostly) everyone is traveling very far to be with us in October, and we don't expect or want anything gifted to us on top of that. If you would still like to give or send a gift, we always love experiences, anything edible or drinkable, and art.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Please wear whatever is most comfortable for you! Here are a few things to keep in mind: - Regular semi-formal or "dressy casual" wedding wear is totally appropriate - We will be walking on grass a lot of the time, so it is a good idea to wear comfortable shoes and avoid spiky heels - The temperature could be 70 during the day or 50/55 - we'll have to wait until the week of to see what the weather will be like. Either way, it will get chilly once the sun goes down, so definitely bring long sleeves, a sweater/cardigan, or a jacket for the evening. - There will be a heated indoor space to be the whole night. The cocktail hour will be in a pavilion with tent walls and heaters, and the reception will be in the indoor round barn. Feel free to check out the venue website for a better idea of what these look like: https://www.skisleepyhollow.com/

Question

What about parking?

Answer

There is plenty of parking at the wedding venue on Sunday, Oct 10. For the Welcome Gathering at our property on Stage Road, we ask that you carpool if possible. There will be parking along the street at the bottom of our driveway. The driveway is quite long and uphill, so if you're wary of the long walk, please drive all the way up the driveway and park up top next to the house.

Question

What will the Welcome Gathering have?

Answer

We'll provide light snacks, beverages, and some yard games. There will be a small number of chairs. If you do have a camping or folding chair that you'd like to bring, that would be great, but it is not absolutely necessary. We will not have a bathroom setup at this time, but we will rent a couple of port-a-potties for the event.
