About Cazenovia, NY

Founded in 1793 by John Lincklaen, Cazenovia resides on the Southeast shore of Cazenovia lake. The village of Cazenovia is located on U.S. Route 20, an East–West United States highway that stretches 3,365 mi from New England all the way to the Pacific Northwest, and is the home to many quaint shops, restaurants, lodging, history, and more. We are excited for our family and friends to see why Cazenovia is so special!

Lorenzo State Historic Site

Situated in historic Cazenovia, Lorenzo State Historic Site is the 1807 Federal style home of John Lincklaen, Holland Land Company agent and founder of Cazenovia. Lorenzo was continually occupied by the Lincklaen/Ledyard family until the property and contents were conveyed to New York State in 1968. The imprint of all of Lorenzo's residents, including the enslaved people, servants and many employees required to run the estate, can be found at every turn. Visitors to Lorenzo enjoy guided tours of the Mansion furnished with 160 years of original furnishings. Explore the Visitor Center for the history of Cazenovia, building of Lorenzo, an amazing carriage and sleigh display, and to watch an introductory video.

Stone Quarry Hill Art Park is an outdoor sculpture park located near Cazenovia. It is open every day from dawn to dusk. The Art Park provides visitors the opportunity to explore unique outdoor artwork amidst 104 acres of conserved land, along four miles of trails, with vista views of the breathtaking rural landscape of Cazenovia and Madison County in Central New York. Inspired by the relationship between art and nature, the Art Park is dedicated to providing a unique environment for emerging and established artists to produce and showcase works in natural and gallery settings.
