meet us on the mountain

They met at Arthur's end-of-the-semester house party. Jane and Arthur started chatting in a group of buddies, but as the night went on, the crowd started to thin. Eventually there were only a few party-goers and a guitar left. Upon discovering their mutual love for serenading, they *quietly* jammed to the tune of some Neil Young until the sun rose. The rest is history!

Jane was teaching an architecture program in Italy during the summer of 2019. Expecting to meet Arthur in Seville two weeks later, she tucked in for bed at 8pm on a regular Thursday night in Firenze. After awakening to a knock on her apartment door, she discovered Arthur on her doorstep! The good man had secretly bought passage to Florence and had walked all the way from the train station to her apartment (without cell phone service at that!). The next day, as they approached the summit of their hike to San Miniato al Monte, Arthur got down on one knee against the backdrop of the city. They celebrated the rest of the night on the beaches of the River Arno drinking Aperol Spritz.
