Our Story
Despite living less than 15 miles apart in Michigan for four years, Jane and Martin met in grad school in Memphis. They made first contact in fall of 2019 on Tinder; however, their conversation here was short-lived as Jane felt that Martin talked about Star Trek too much and ultimately ghosted him. A year later, they re-met on Hinge, where he finally won her over by leading with a text pretending to be a verification message from the NIH. Shortly thereafter, they had their first date at a drive-in screening of Gremlins, and it all took off from there.
Together, they have completed their PhDs, moved across the country, climbed mountains, loved Olive the cat equally, watched a lot of baseball, and shared plenty of adventures on planes, trains, ships, and automobiles.
(Most importantly, Jane fell in love with Star Trek after all.)
