FAQs

Question

Do I need to RSVP if I am only coming to the mass?

Answer

No, anybody and everybody is more than welcome to come and celebrate the sacrifice of the mass with us!

Question

What do I need to know about the catholic nuptial mass as a Non-Catholic?

Answer

A Catholic wedding mass is longer than most wedding ceremonies because it consists not only of the vows, but also the entirety of the mass, the celebration of Christ's sacrifice for us on earth! Please uphold a spirit of reverence and joy for this special time in which all the angels and saints in heaven are celebrating the love of God with us! We will have comprehensive worship aids in our wedding program to assist you in following along with this beautiful liturgy. We hope you appreciate the divinity of the prayers the faithful have joined in together since the Early Church! The Mass is integral to our faith as Catholics because during the mass the Eucharist is transformed by the power of God from bread into the literal, living Body of Christ under the mere appearance of bread. We take this very seriously - the Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith, and the Eucharist has changed James and Theresa's lives for ever. Because of how important the Eucharist is to Catholics, it is reserved for only those who fully believe, uphold, and love the truth that is the literal Body of Jesus. Thus, practicing Catholics, in a state of grace may receive the Eucharist during the wedding mass. We ask that our non-Catholic friends and family remain seated or come forward to the altar to receive a blessing from our priest instead of receiving Communion. This is not an act of gatekeeping of the Eucharist by the Catholic Church, but rather, a reservation of the Eucharist for those who fully believe it to be truly our Lord.

Question

Can non-practicing Catholics recieve communion?

Answer

We are honored and excited to share our special day with each and every one of you. As we prepare for our wedding Mass, we kindly request that our Catholic guests who do not attend Mass regularly refrain from receiving the Eucharist during the ceremony. As Catholics, we believe that the Eucharist is a sacred sacrament and a symbol of our unity with Christ and each other. We ask that all guests who wish to receive the Eucharist be properly prepared to do so through regular participation in Mass and the sacrament of reconciliation. We appreciate your understanding and respect for our Catholic faith and traditions. We look forward to sharing this joyous occasion with you all.

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We do not have a hotel block, however our recommended hotel and travel information can be found on the travel page.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer
