Our Story
In April 2022, Jake and Kayla met at a local spot in Florissant when Kayla (covered in glow sticks from a neon fundraiser) caught Jake’s eye. She told friends he was “the cutest one here.” Thanks to Jake’s twin sister, who knew Kayla from Fontbonne University, the two were introduced and talked until closing, bonding over the outdoors, sports, food, country music, and their love of faith, family, and friends.
A year later, Jake began studying at the University of North Dakota. Though long distance wasn’t easy, it strengthened their relationship and proved that what they had was worth the miles. In December 2025, Jake proposed on a hike at Hawn State Park. Kayla said yes! What began with glow sticks and a chance introduction has grown into a lifetime of adventure. They can’t wait to continue the journey side by side.
