Jamie and Jonathan met in October of 2007 in Humboldt, CA. Jamie was attending Humboldt State University and Jonathan was visiting a friend who also attended Humboldt State. Jamie and Jonathan became great friends very quickly.
Jamie and Jonathan have been very close friends for years. Even though life had taken them on completely different paths, they always stayed connected. Jamie spent 2 years at Humboldt State before moving around a lot until she found her home at The Ohio State University. Jamie was always goal oriented and determined to graduate college. In December of 2013, she finally did. Meanwhile, Jonathan was in Sacramento working and attending missions trips in Honduras with his church. The whole time, the two were great friends and stayed in contact. In August of 2014, Jamie decided to move back to California and rented a room in the same house as Jonathan. The two started spending a lot of time together, and as luck would have it they started to work together as well. Spending so much time with each other between work and home, Jonathan began to learn what Jamie knew all along. In May of 2018, Jonathan officially asked Jamie to be his girlfriend and their love blossomed from there. Shortly after, they moved in together and have been extremely happy and in love ever since.
After nearly 4 years of dating, Jamie was convinced that Jonathan would never be ready to get married. But boy did he fool her! He had been planning an elaborate proposal for months, but the most important ingredient was the date, which is what threw Jamie off. Jamie had hoped and prayed he might pop the question on the major holidays. She was convinced he’d planned something for Christmas. Then when Christmas came and gone, then New Years, then Valentine’s Day Jamie had told herself it wasn’t going to happen. So on a “random” Tuesday night in February when Jonathan was making dinner, and bringing out flowers and candles and playing music, Jamie was completely oblivious to it all. Jamie learned after the fact, that this in fact wasn’t a random date, it was 2.22.22 and the date Jonathan had been planning on for months. Two being Jamie’s favorite and luckiest number, Jonathan wanted to make sure the proposal was a day we would never forget.
