The Moore Cove hike holds a special place in our hearts, being many of our "firsts". This hike was our first date together, first hike together, and it was on Josh's 25th birthday! This easy, family-friendly trail "ends at Moore Cove Falls, which casts water over a cave-like rock outcropping. You can explore all the way around the base of the waterfall (or through it, if it's oppressively hot!). The trail does not go beyond the falls."
Black Balsam Knob is another of our favorite hikes! With beautiful rolling hills of tall grass and shrub, the views of Asheville and the surrounding mountains are breathtaking! The hike is moderate and slightly more difficult with some steep sections, but the views are WORTH IT!
Stroll into the White Squirrel Shop for some fun local attire or swing by O.P. Taylor's to see the biggest assortment of toys and games! If you get hungry, grab a hotdog and ice cream at Rocky's Soda Shop, a sandwich from Mayberry's, or a delicious meal at The Square Root. You can even admire the works of local artists within the variety of galleries downtown.
