Jared and Alivia met on a dating app. It's true. They are classic millennials. But, despite the simple nature of a dating app, it was never about Alivia's outward beauty for Jared and it was never about Jared's dashing good looks for Alivia. In fact, at first, Alivia perceived Jared to be far too intentional. What Alivia didn't know, at the time, is that she deeply intrigued Jared, and he was diligently attempting to "receive" a first date. Fortunately, (and after multiple attempts) Jared gained Alivia's approval to take her on a date. Jared and Alivia went to "A 2nd Cup", a non-profit coffee shop in Houston. This venue ended up hosting much more than a first date. Jared and Alivia talked about their beliefs, passions, and faith. This is not typical first date material for either Jared or Alivia, but both slowly grew confident in the idea that this relationship could be special. As the coffee shop closed, and they were forced to leave, Jared could not help himself and asked Alivia out again. The very next day, Jared wound up in the hospital. After a few days, he finally told Alivia that they may have to postpone their second date. Little did Alivia know, Jared had already told, literally, every visitor he received about her. In other words, all of his closest friends and family (and every nurse within earshot). After Jared was released, Alivia came to visit him, and there was pretty much no turning back. The two have since been inseparable.

Finally. Enough time had passed so that Jared could ask Alivia to marry him. He had been waiting for this moment for months, and the perfect opportunity just presented itself. On April 20, 2019, both families were going to be in Austin, Texas for Easter. The only hard part was going to be trying to keep Alivia from finding out. Spoiler Alert: Alivia totally knew. Despite Jared's best efforts, it was apparently obvious that he was eagerly awaiting the right opportunity to ask. However, she didn't know how or when it would happen. On Saturday morning, both the Youngs and the Martins got together to have brunch. Everything was going perfectly and the plan was for the families to spend the afternoon at a winery. Little did Alivia know, the families would not be going to the winery. It would only be Alivia and Jared (so that he could ask the most important question of his life). When they got there, Jared led Alivia through the orchard and to an area overlooking the vineyard. It was here that he asked her to marry him and she screamed "YES"! After the proposal, Alivia and Jared enjoyed the next few hours at the winery together discussing their new lives and the journey they were about to embark on. Jared then told Alivia it was time to go back to his parents house so that they could celebrate. He mentioned that he knew she wanted to celebrate with all her friends, but that it being Easter weekend, only their family could be there. Fortunately, Jared was successful in catching Alivia by surprise with what happened next. As Jared and Alivia pulled up to the house, all of her their closest friends and family were in the front yard with bottles of champagne. Alivia had no idea so many people would be heading to Austin to celebrate the future Youngs! The newly engaged couple got to be surrounded by their friends and family and enjoyed a fantastic party to kick off the commitment they had just made to each other.
