The wedding is postponed?! What happens now?

Answer

The new wedding date is June 5, 2021, and the welcome party will be held the night before on June 4. Both events will be held at the same time as previously planned and at the same locations. We have decided to downsize our wedding significantly and will only be celebrating with family and close friends at this time. We'll be sending out links to RSVP (once again!!) online, but don't worry about that until the time comes. PLEASE NOTE - We had to cancel our room block at the hotel to confirm everyone could get a refund. If you previously booked with the hotel, your reservation has been cancelled. A new link will be posted once we receive it from the hotel. Again, we are so very sorry that this wrench has been thrown into everyone's plans. We appreciate everyone's understanding and sincerely hope that you celebrate with us next June!

Where is the ceremony?

Answer

Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum - 41 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Savannah, GA 31401. You can also check out the Schedule & Event Details tab on this website for additional information. The ceremony will take place outdoors and proper covid precautions will be taken. We will have hand sanitizer on deck, but please feel free to bring anything else that will make you more comfortable throughout the night.

What time does the ceremony start?

Answer

The museum and gardens open at 5:30 PM to all guests. At this time, the museum will be opened exclusively for wedding guests, so please come early and have a look around! Refreshments will be served. The actual ceremony begins promptly at 6:30 PM. Our love waits for no one - please do not be late!

When should I RSVP and to whom do I RSVP?

What's the dress code?

Answer

The attire for the rehearsal dinner is cocktail or dressy casual. The ceremony and reception are semi-formal attire. Check the Schedule & Event Details tab for more information.

Is the ceremony outdoors?

Answer

Yes! Both the ceremony and reception spaces are outdoors and the space is plenty big for everyone to maintain distance as needed! The ceremony space has cobblestones, so plan accordingly with those shoes, ladies! Weather in June should be cooperative, but remember to check the weather a few days out for any potential showers or extreme heat!

How do I get there?

Answer

Flying: The nearest airport is Savannah / Hilton Head International. It's about a 20-minute drive from the hotel and downtown Savannah. For additional airports that are a little further out, see the Travel Information tab. Driving: Savannah is about a 4.5 hour drive from Atlanta. Get that road trip playlist ready to go!

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

We suggest ditching the rental car, but the ultimate decision is up to you! Downtown Savannah is walkable and compact, and ride-share services like Lyft and Uber are widely available. There are also free shuttles that circulate throughout downtown and the historic district. A link to the shuttle map can be found on the Travel Information tab. IF this is your preferred method of travel, you may want to check the website to make sure covid has not impacted service. Also, remember that a shuttle will be provided between the Alida Hotel and the Welcome Dinner Venue on Friday night for all guests. Saturday is even easier - the venue is just a 5-minute walk from the Alida Hotel. If you are staying outside of downtown, have little ones, or just feel more comfortable having a car, that’s fine too!
