Philippians 1:3-6

The first time Anna and I went on a date was January 16, 2025. We had met up at the Drip Coffee Shop in Dayton, Tennessee that was close to our college. This date had been a long time coming as I had been wanting to ask her out for a while now. As we sat there sipping our coffees, I quickly realized how much Anna’s life had been affected by the Lord. It was so evident that she had a love for him that was so on fire and authentic. Every story she shared while telling me more and more about her pointed back to Christ, and I realized that she was different than any other woman I had ever met. This amazing date led to a second, and eventually a third and so on. It did not take long for us to realize that we wanted our futures to be intertwined with each other and Jesus. Over the next year and a half we would get to know each other more and learn how to love each other the way God instructs us to in his Word. There were days that that made it feel like I had known Anna my entire life, and other days I have the privilege and excitement of learning something new about her and the way God made her. That year and a half was such a beautiful time as we grew with one another and started planning for the future. I then moved to Houston, Texas at the beginning of this summer and was 858 miles away from Anna. This was a specially different time as we were unable to see each other every day for a few months. We had to learn new ways to communicate efficiently, and I learned so much about Anna during those few months apart. Anna had been planning on coming to visit the week of my birthday in June. This was my time to finally ask her to be my wife! Months of plotting and carefully scheming went into this plan of surprising Anna. This is because she is a little detective and could sniff out the ending of a movie plot during the previews. Eventually, the night before the proposal came, and I did not sleep a wink! I was too excited to even start to rest. Then the day was here, and her sister Emma helped me by taking her on some excursion finding seashells while I set up. I prayed and prayed that the Lord would hold off the rain, and he did just that. During that beautiful morning at El Jardin beach on June 16, 2026 I had the honor and privilege of asking Anna Rose Driller to be my wife. A tearful and excited yes followed (happy tears of course). During the last month of engagement we have been able to look back on our time together and just see how the Lord has not only blessed us, but also how he has grown us as well. From the beginning of our relationship we want nothing more than us being together to point to the gift that God offers, and that’s Jesus Christ and the forgiveness he brings. This is what we want to be infused in every aspect of our dating time, engagement period, and eventually our lifelong marriage! Christ being all and glorified in all is what we want, and we want to thank you for being a part of it. Neither is us could be where we are today without the beautiful people reading this. This is our love story, and I’m so glad it’s just the beginning ❤️
