Let me set the scene. It was 2010. I had just transferred from Bethel Christian Academy to Trent Lott Academy to begin 6th grade. The only thing on my mind was Mindless Behavior and getting acclimated to my new school. During the first week of school, I saw this boy from down the hall. He was tall, cute and had a loud, goofy laugh. He stood out and I knew instantly that we had to be friends. It took a while for me to build up the confidence to talk to him but a simple "Hey, I'm Janae. What's your name?" led to much more. In 9th grade, Jarvis asked me to be his girlfriend and we've been attached at the hip ever since. The growth we have experienced together and as individuals has been so beautiful to experience. We're excited for you to celebrate with us!

Allow me to paint the picture for you. It's 2012, and all I'm thinking about is football practice and what my mom is making for dinner that night. I hop off the bus and start my school day per usual, class and zoning in and out of what my teachers are talking about. I step into science class take my seat, and something catches my eye. I've seen her before, but the light is just different this day. She was different that day. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. We talked all class and exchanged phone numbers, and I've been on the ground ever since. It was the softest the ground has ever felt (I fell in love for those who didn't catch that).
