Ashton and I met at Seaworld. We worked in the same ride area. Ashton and I with two other co-workers closing the ride on the 12th of March were cracking jokes with each other and having a blast. At the end of the night when it was time to clock out Ashton asked for my Snapchat and we walked out together. On March 14, 2017 is when I reached out to him. I saw a picture on Instagram that reminded me of the jokes that we were laughing about days before. We snapped each other all night until like 3 am. I told him he was lucky because I don’t usually stay up late texting guys at all. As time went by I got tired and told him that I would text him later on in the day when I woke up. He told me “Lol you’re snap chatting me rn so that would be impossible... So if you wanna text me you’d have to have my number... 352.***-****... And now you do 😊”. Ever since then we texted each other everyday and facetimed each other every night. He also created this thing where we couldn’t kiss until the third date, which he got from his favorite tv show. The first time we hung out outside of work (first date) was on a Thursday so that’s when we decided to see each other every Thursday from there on out.

The second date we had was more of a watch family guy and eat type of date at his house. The third date we had was Thursday morning on April 13, 2017. I had woken up to go get my nails done that day. Thursdays were the days were we would always hang out together. He met me at the nail salon and waited until I finished getting my nails done and then we left. Back then he never use to go to my house, so we would always go and sit by the pool together or hung out by the park that was next to my house. That day we went to the park. We arrived at the park and gotten comfortable because we were gonna be sitting there for a while. We sat in the car together and just talked about whatever came to mind I guess. I was laying on Ashton’s lap and he was sitting up staring at who knows what. Next thing I know Ashton is leaning over and kissing me. At first I was shocked and didn’t expect him to kiss me at all that day so I froze until he said “Are you not gonna kiss me back?” I shook my head and he kissed me again and I kissed him back. Then he said “So can coach put me in the game or not?” Some may not understand, but that was his way of asking me out. I was kidding at first and told him no to see how he would react but then told him yeah afterwards.

The Lincoln Monument in Washington D.C is where it all happened. We went up to attend his MOS graduation. After his graduation we drove down to the mall. I stayed w/ his younger brother walking around the mall helping him find a christmas gift for his girlfriend. We then drove down to V.A to his brother’s house. Things didn’t go well that night at all. The next morning when we woke up the first thing he told me was “Good morning my love today is gonna be much better than last night & it will end up being the best day of your life”. I didn’t think nothing much of it because he’s a guy who loves being positive & doesn’t like dealing w/ negativity. We got dress and drove down to his brother’s house. I stayed at the house w/ his mother to help her decorate for something else we were planning on doing that day. Later we went to get his younger brother a haircut & then went to the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico. Fast forward to the proposal. We parked in DC & walked in the cold rain to the Lincoln Memorial. He passed by me & I asked him if he was okay & he totally ignored me. I could’ve sworn he was mad at me! We got to the monument & he was no where to be found. His older brother stood next to me explaining some facts about D.C to me. Then a few minutes later he called me & said some words that neither of us could understand. I couldn’t understand so I hung up & he called again. Next thing you know his mom begins walking up & as he got closer I heard him say “So it wasn’t suppose to happen this way but I guess I’ll just have to wing it. You know how I always ask you to marry me over the phone & you always tell me yes but I’ll have to ask you in person. Well here I am”. He then got down on one knee & I began to cry. I didn’t hear anything else he said after that. When I glanced up at him he had 2 rings in his hand. YES 2 RINGS! A ring pop & the real ring. He’s a fan of Forrest Gump so that’s why he had the ring pop. Ended up being the best propsal I could ever ask for!
