The future Mr. & Mrs. Carr are planning to get into Asheville, NC on Friday October 6th in the late afternoon. We are planning to leave with our families on Sunday October 8th after brunch and beers, and will be heading to Hot Springs, NC for our official wedding on October 9th. We would love to see family and friends at any time during the weekend. Let us know when you are planning to arrive.
The Bride and Groom will be staying in an Airbnb in the River Arts District (address 76 Clingman Ave). Guests will be staying all around Asheville. If looking for accommodations the West Asheville area is a good choice. Montford is a great historic district with old houses and B&Bs. Or venture a little further out like Woodfin, Marshall, or Hendersonville.
No formal plans, but if you are in town on Friday we'd love to hang out. We're planning to grab dinner at Chai Pani, an Indian street food restaurant, that was named best restaurant at the 2022 James Beard Awards. They are first come first serve and don't accept reservations so we plan to be there, in line between 5-5:30 PM on Friday. Simon won't stop talking about the Friday night drum circle that happens in Asheville. It's a couple hundred drummers and dancers that really bring the downtown to life. They start around dusk and go until 9-10 PM. Located at the outdoor amphitheater in Pritchard Park, we'll definitely be making a pit stop here on our Friday night walk of Asheville.
Yes, Absolutely! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday activities are all family friendly. We've arranged for a local babysitter, who was referred to us by friends in Asheville, to stay with the children while the adults stay out a bit later for the after party on Saturday.
Check out the "things to do" page. The primary activities in Asheville revolve around the outdoors, food, beer, and art. There are James Beard award winning restaurants, world renowned breweries and gorgeous floral and fauna.
