This museum features a replicated fossil dig site & a discovery room with hands-on activities for kids. There is an exhibit of live rattlesnakes as well as a 91 million year old fossilized shark.

Fort Hays was an active Army post from 1865 - 1889 during the American Indian Wars. Lots of local history as well as a little local folklore. Elizabeth Polly ministered to the ill at the fort. She was buried near the fort and people today still claim to see her ghost - aka "the blue light lady."
Originally this was operated as the Fox Theater. Two brothers have revived the historic icon where they serve lunch and dinner. Other amenities include a cigar bar and lounge. Open Thursday through Saturday evenings.
