High school athletics created the amazing friendship between Marci and Abbie. As they got older, Abbie, along with two other bridesmaids, would make trips often to visit Marci at Gonzaga - one year brought them to Oklahoma as well. Their bond continued to grow as life happened. Today, Abbie is Marci's confidant, sharing in life's everyday struggles, dreams, darkest moments, and incredible memories. Marci is incredibly blessed to have Abbie next to her as she enters the next journey in life.
Brandon Trusty
Best Man
Since 1984, Brandon Trusty has been the right hand man to Jamaal. From Sunday School to Pee Wee Football to Middle School dances to Friday Night Lights in High School Jamaal and Brandon have been a 1-2 punch. Brandon is Jamaal's best friend and has seen him grow up to be the man he is today. Brandon will serve the best man for Jamaal and Marci's special day.
Hope Watson

Hope and Marci met in 2010 when Hope's husband, Kadero (also a groomsman), was going to graduate school with Marci at the University of Oklahoma. When Marci met Hope, it was friends-for-life at first-sight. Hope and Marci shared some incredible memories in Oklahoma, some of which involved taking shelter together from a tornado! Hope and Marci share a love for Jesus, clothes, and laughter. Even though they live hundreds of miles away from each other, they continue to share a close bond. Marci is thrilled to have Hope stand by her side when she marries Jamaal.
Kadero Watson

In 2010, Kadero and Jamaal became good friends when they worked for the Oklahoma Sooners and their relationship continues to grow. Kadero's wife, Hope is one of Marci's bridesmaids. Both couples went to Hawaii together last summer. Jamaal is hopeful to have a fruitful marriage as Kadero has with Hope.
Erin Mothershead

Erin and Marci began playing sports together when Marci entered high school. Erin was like a big sister to Marci, making sure she was taken care of and mentoring her in all areas of life. When Marci left for Gonzaga, Marci and Erin continued to share a close bond. Marci has loved watching Erin begin new chapters in her life - from being a bridesmaid in her wedding, to watching her become a mom. Erin is a true friend and confidant to Marci and she is so thankful to have Erin standing by her side.
Levi Swindell

Levi served as a Jamaal's "rat" aka Little Brother at Virginia Military Institute (VMI). Levi played on the VMI football team during Jamaal's senior year. Levi is a loyal & trustworthy comrade to Jamaal. Jamaal is always checking in with Levi since their time at VMI. Jamaal is proud of Levi's success and is honored to have him serve as a groomsman.
Mandy Leppanen
Bridesmaid
Mandy and Marci met while playing sports as young girls, but that is not what kept them connected. Once in high school, Mandy became a cheerleader and was at most of Marci’s high school games, as her older sister, Erin (Bridesmaid) played with Marci. Marci and Mandy instantly became close friends and that bond continues. Marci and Mandy graduated high school together and continued to stay connected as Mandy went to Minnesota for college. Mandy has a beautiful soul that reminds Marci the power of friendship. Marci was blessed to stand with Mandy as she married her husband, Corey, and is honored to have her next to her as she marries Jamaal.
Brian Kohout

In 2009, Jamaal and Brian were roommates and became fast friends when they worked at the University of Tennessee together. They joined forces again at Alabama in 2012. Brian has been a great friend and a valuable resource in Jamaal's professional life.
Sherry Cason

Marci is thrilled to be gaining a wonderful sister-in-law as she marries into the Walton family! As Jamaal's older sister, she has watched Jamaal become an amazing man. She has been a huge support in Jamaal's journey of athletics - both as a player and in his career. Like Marci, Sherry doesn't have a biological sister, so this is a blessing for both! Sherry currently resides in Norfolk, Virginia, where she owns a day care. Marci is looking forward to gaining a sister-in-law, as well as 2 nieces (Armani & Asyah) and 2 nephews (AJ & Zuri).
Sekou Walton

Sekou is Jamaal's big brother and only brother. He has served as a role model in Jamaal's life and has always made an effort to set the example for him to follow. It's only right for his big brother to be by his side on June 2, 2018 as he jumps the broom.

Like most of the other bridesmaids, Marci and Jamie’s friendship began on the basketball court in High School. Being that Marci was usually the smallest on the court, Jamie took it upon herself to make sure Marci wasn’t getting pushed around too much. Marci and Jamie got to see each other often during their college years, as Jamie attended Eastern Washington University and Marci, Gonzaga. Marci admires Jamie for her continued perseverance, strength and undoubting friendship. She will always see Jamie like a big sister and is thankful to have her standing by her side.

Travis, just like Brandon, grew up with Jamaal and was always around him during their childhood. Travis is Jamaal's cousin and someone that truly knows who Jamaal is, inside and out. It's only right that Travis is a groomsman for Jamaal's special day.
Christopher & Alivia Reihm

Christopher and Alivia have been a part of Marci’s life since they were a very young age. They lived with Marci’s parents, along with their Mom, Amanda, for a time when Alivia was born. Marci’s family considers Amanda and the kids part of their family and often spends holidays together. Christopher and Alivia have grown into strong, independent young people who will change the world one day. Jamaal and Marci are honored to have them be a part of their big day.

Marci is blessed to be the eldest granddaughter of 20 grandchildren on her mother’s side of the family. From a very young age, Marci knew the role she would play in each of their lives. Each of her cousins holds a special place in her heart that is forever cherished. For many years, Marci would have “cousin sleepovers” at her house that included braids, movies and karaoke. Marci has watched each of her cousins grow into beautiful young women and could not imagine this day without having them by her side.

Marcus is the beloved Brother-of-the-Bride who will be walking the grandmothers-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-bride down the aisle.
