Things To Do

Let's be honest, these are all going to be food or drink related.

Green Pig Bistro

1025 North Fillmore Street, Arlington, VA 22201
, (703) 888-1920

We're becoming regulars here! It's great at all hours -- but we particularly love it for dinner and brunch.

Screwtop Wine Bar

1025 North Fillmore Street, Arlington, VA 22201
, (703) 888-0845

We love our wine (there's a reason we chose France for our elopement and honeymoon!) and this place has a great selection of wine and charcuterie boards.

Buena Vida Clarendon Restaurant

2900 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22201
, (703) 888-1259

This place has three stories and three different concepts. The downstairs is more casual with tacos and quesadillas. The second story is a fancier sit down restaurant. And the roof has a killer view with amazing drinks and great bar snacks.

Heritage Brewing

1300-1398 N Fillmore Street, Arlington, VA 22201

Cute beer hall with great craft beers and good food in Clarendon.

Ballston Quarter

4238 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22203
, (703) 243-8088

This foodhall is really great and an easy walk or metro from Clarendon. Highly recommend checking it out and sitting outside, weather permitting. (Get the hot chicken at Lola's and thank us later!).

Sidekick Bakery

Arlington, VA 22203
, (703) 848-0640

If you love Ted's Bulletin's poptarts than this place is for you! Sidekick is their small bakery in the Ballston neighborhood, specializing in tarts, pastries, croissants, and coffee. Definitely a great spot for breakfast or a pick me up any time of the day.

Bronson Bier Hall

4100 Fairfax Dr., Arlington, VA 22203

A brand new beer hall in the Ballston neighborhood. Take advantage of it being Oktoberfest and grab some beer specials here.

Union Market

1309 5th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002
, (301) 347-3998

One of our favorite places -- and we do miss living around the corner from it! You can't go wrong at any place here, but getting a sandwich and glass of wine at La Jambe was one of our favorite things to do on a Saturday.

La Cosecha

1280 4th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

In the NoMa neighborhood of DC, this opened right after Grant and I moved from just down the block to Arlington. It is a food hall specializing in Latin American cuisine.

District Wharf

760 Maine Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

This isn't in Clarendon, but definitely worth a trek into DC. The Wharf is a new-ish development with lots of great bars, restaurants, and shopping. Also a great spot to grab the water taxi over to National Harbor or Alexandria. While not super metro accessible, you can take the metro directly to the closet station from Clarendon and then either hop on the free shuttle or do a 10 minute walk.

National Harbor

Fort Washington, MD 20745

Another not in VA place that's worth checking out if you have time. Even looking past the casinos and outlets, there is decent shopping and restaurants over here. Best way to get there is via water taxi.
