James and Emily

We met in a history class at MTSU in which there were a total of 8 students, so we all got to know each other pretty well. The following fall, we had another class together, and we were sure to sit side by side. By late October, our relationship had officially begun. And the rest is history.

We had planned on decorating Emily's family's Christmas Tree and having dinner together. James coordinated with her parents so that there would be time for us to go to the Opry Land Hotel between decorating and our family meal, but Emily had other plans. James quickly planned to have Emily's friend, Emma, cancel afternoon plans last minute so that the Hotel adventure would be a success, and coordinated with his friend, Emory to take photos. After a brief trip to Opry Mills, we dashed across the parking lot through the pouring rain to see the lights at the Opry Land Hotel. Perfectly timing what to say on the walk from our special bridgeway spot downstairs to the gazebo, we slowdanced our way into James dropping to his knee, and of course, Emily said yes.

As we begin this new adventure. we are excited to begin our careers as elementary school teachers and anticipate all that life throws our way.
