One Friday night in Washington DC Jamila met Bryan! Jamila was in her final year at GW while Bryan was wrapping up his baseball season at PGCC in Maryland! Jamila was up all night studying when she gets a call from her college friends to go out and celebrate their birthday! Since one of her friends in the group was under 21, they had decided to go to UltraBar in DC. Bryan on the other hand was out with his teammates and one of them happened to be under 21 as well making UltraBar their only option. However, Bryans night took a turn when he was denied entry due to his sneakers. He was pretty upset, yet made the decision to drive back to Maryland to change shoes and return so that he could still hang out with his teammates. Forty-five minutes later he made it inside! Upon making it in, Jamila was heading upstairs to the third floor when she immediately took notice of Bryan and was impressed with his style. She was fearless and approached him after navigating through a sea of people and gave him a complement. He did not notice at first due to the loud music, so she leaned closer and repeated her complement. Bryan was impressed that someone out of the blue took notice of his style which was very unique and very Miami, not Demure (lol). From there it was an instant connection. They hung out the rest of the evening, dancing and laughing. Literally a match made in heaven. From that moment on both exchanged contacts and decided to meet again for a formal date in which they found that they had a lot in common from cultural aspects, music, food, interests in sports, fitness, and most important faith. From that day fast forward 7 years later they have stood strong in their commitment to each other and cannot wait to seal their relationship under God!
