In the summer of 2013, we were both hired for Waterfront staff at Camp Barney Medintz in Cleveland, GA. We happened to sit next to each other at dinner on Zach's first night, and quickly became good friends (nothing more - for real Mom and Dad if you are reading this). After being friends for a few months and realizing there was something more between us, we gave the long-distance dating a shot. I guess you could say it worked out...7 years later and here we are!
Our plans for Thanksgiving were to do our own celebration on Wednesday so that Zach could work all day Thursday (accountants...am I right?). We were going to do a wine and cheese night and then go to a fancy dinner. Then on Friday morning we were going to wake up early and head to Atlanta to spend a few days with our families. Little did I know, Zach had made other plans. During wine and cheese on Wednesday night, Zach asked if I wanted to take the wine up to the rooftop of our apartment complex, and I said sure (but only after eating a few more bites of cheese and crackers, making us late and stressing everyone out). Up on the roof, Zach asked if I wanted to take a picture, and he asked a random girl (the photographer he hired) to take it for us. After he popped the question and I said yes, our families all ran out onto the rooftop to pop champagne with us! Needless to say, I had no idea and was extremely surprised! -Jamie
