Jamiecka’s Version: • It all started with a work trip that I did not want to go on to Winston Salem. I was in Roanoke, VA at the time. • A few days into my 2-week work trip, I ended up meeting a fine fella who wanted to take me to dinner. • We both got off too late, and the original restaurant he wanted to take me was closed. The closest thing to my hotel and open was Twin Peaks. I had never heard of Twin Peaks, so you can imagine my thoughts when we walked in. • Figured I’d never see or speak to this man again after I went back home, but we actually stayed in touch. Before I knew it, we were talking all the time, planning meet-ups, and he was holding my hand in public. • I was not in a place where I thought I was ready to be exclusive with anyone, and I was just focused on me. Overtime, I found myself feeling a way for him. This was not the plan at all, but it just…happened. • I decided to express my feelings to this man because if you hold my hand in public, we go together! Tell me why he replied with “I’m not in the season where I’m looking to be a bf or anything like that…just focused on me”. (There was more, but you get the gist.) • I was cool with it though because those were my literal thoughts. But okayyyyy, BET!!! Don’t put your arm around me again lol. Told myself I was going to take a break from hitting him up, and did, but I missed him. • 2 days later, HE hit me up, and I was grinning ear to ear. At that moment, I knew that was my man; he just had to recognize it. • Some weeks later, I visited him. We were riding around, and he received a phone call. A friend was just yapping, and he’s like “Look man, I’m currently with my lady…(I missed the rest of whatever he said).” • Neither one of us acknowledged what he said, just listened to the car radio while my head was spinning because does that mean what I think it means? • Later that evening, we’re eating tacos, and he’s like “You hear what I said on the phone earlier?” “Uhh, yeah…doesn’t sound like you’re focusing on yourself”. • Now here we are 6 years later, focusing on each other and a happily ever after. If it wasn’t for a work trip, I would not have met the love of my life. Jonathan’s Version: • What she said…
