We are getting married....finally!!

Sonja was finishing her last semester at Pulaski tech before graduating in May with her associates degree. She was taking ASL and Organic Chemistry. She started started attending the tutor session they called SI, One day she walked in late (as usual) and Jamie was in the class and brought her the stufy sheets and showed her where we were. We met eyes and felt an immediate connection. Sonja started payimg attention yo this new person and one day ran intonher in the square amd asked her for her name so she didnt keep referring to her as the cute girl in the hat with all the answers. We started attending Study groups, SI sessions and random runins amd developed an amazing friemdship that would blossom into the most amaing Love we had either ever experienced.

The annual Nash family beach vacation in Destin FL was the week of Sonja’s birthday 8/7 so I started plotting and planning to make it as special as possible. I found the perfect ring based off her favorite Disney princess snow white. We figured out the events of the week for the beach vacation and with the help of Jerri Kaye Kayelyn and Delainey we started planning for the big event. While we were in Destin we had originally planned for family pictures to be on Thursday but had to change it due to part of the family leaving early so we changed it to Tuesday Sonja’s birthday the 7th. Ideally I wanted to have as much family present as possible so we started talking to all the family to ensure everyone that wanted to be present could be there and it worked out best after family pictures since it was on Sonja‘s birthday we planned to do cake and sing happy birthday. Then I would make my announcement and give my gift, Kayelyn was able to go on Facebook live and capture the whole event. We walked out toward the beach and there was the whole family standing in an area with picnic tables and they started singing happy birthday to Sonja. Afterward KK made a toast to her dad Sherman since they always shared a birthday and it was his first birthday in heaven. So of course she was crying already and then I stepped in and said and I have one more gift and proceeded to tell her how much I love her and how incredible my life is with her in it. Then how we did not do everything exactly perfect the first 6 1/2 years of our relationship but we had both rededicated our lives to God and each other and would continue for the remainder of our lives together. Then it was a little blurry I don’t remember everything exactly how it happened but at some point I got down on one knee and said. Here in front of your whole entire family and everyone watching on Facebook live Sonja Michelle Nelson will you marry me? She of course said yes and that became the happiest day of my life.
