Martan and Jamie met in 2018 at a tailgate in the Wessman Arena parking lot before the start of their freshman year of college. Martan offered Jamie his flannel to help with the superior chill, and she politely declined. They realized quickly they had a connection and became close friends.

Their freshman year consisted of studying in the library and eating in the cafeteria as they grew their relationship. Entering their sophomore and junior years, they became best friends, often found Facetiming, getting coffees, going on walks, or grocery shopping together — things they still do today.

Senior year of college, Martan and Jamie realized they were more than just friends and took the opportunity to start "officially" going on dates and have been inseparable since.

Martan proposed to Jamie while on a sunset walk at Normandale Lake in Bloomington, MN. He convinced her they were making a TikTok while he got down on a knee, and she said yes!

Martan and Jamie have used their friendship to build a solid foundation for their relationship. Being each other's biggest supporters, and remaining "two peas in a pod." You can find them together up north, supporting Minnesota sports, being active, hiking, or spending time with their families and friends.
