Please dress formally for the wedding. Think beachy, but elegant. We'll be trying to make a kilt work on a beach, so you should too!
Tulum is pretty much an all-cash town-- it's a good idea to have pesos on you at all times. It's best to exchange dollars at your departure airport or before you plan to travel for optimal exchange rates. Otherwise, stop at the ATM at the Chedruai (the big grocery store on the way into Tulum) or the HSBC in the pueblo. There are also ATMs at various hotels by the beach.
Tulum is a laid back beach town. Though the wedding will be elegant, plan to embrace your Bohemian self for the rest of the time! Bug spray - Tulum is basically a jungle on the beach so there are mosquitos. February shouldn't be too bad, but make sure to bring bug spray. Sunscreen - the Mayan sun is really strong (especially for pasty white Scots). Pack sunscreen.
A lot of hotels and rentals offer free bikes. There is a bike path that runs from downtown to the southern beach area - it takes around 15-20 minutes to go one way. You can reserve bikes here and have them delivered to your hotel/rental: https://www.ibiketulum.com Cabs are also a good option, but can sometimes be hard to flag one down. Your hotel should be able to help though. Consider taking cabs throughout the evening because the roads by the beach aren't lit up at night.
