Jamie moved to Montrose to complete her student teaching. Macey and Easton, Lake's younger siblings, were her students. Jamie instantly adored them both, but didn't know that Macey was running home telling her older brother that he HAD to come meet her teacher. Macey and Lake concieved a plan... a plan to get Lake to meet Jamie! Lake was to come pick Macey up from school- Macey was to wait inside so that he would have to come in and get her... The day came. Macey waiting inside. Lake came in to get her. Macey introduced Lake to Jamie! AND... Jamie remembers none of it... For months, Lake would come pick Macey up just to say, "Hi." For months, Jamie never noticed... slowly Jamie became friends with Tiffany, Lake's mom. After several weeks, Jamie found herself hanging around the Sanburg clan more and more. One night, Lake gave Jamie a ride home and that's when their friendship started! Only a few weeks passed by and before they knew it they were inseparable!

Apparently, Lake carried around the engagement ring for a few weeks waiting for the right opportunity! Lake and Jamie would go on their summer adventures and each time rain or people would interrupt the moment. It wasn't until the weekend of August 6th, that the timing was finally right! Jamie's family was in town and one afternoon they decided to go fourwheeling in the mountains. After an entire morning of cruising around, everyone stopped in a meadow by a creek for lunch. This was the moment when Lake would propose. He was going to wait until everyone was done eating, but when that time came Jamie and Kendall hopped on the fourwheeler and took off! Lake stood there stunned for a second until Shannon called the girls back! They claimed that their fourwheeler wasn't working and they needed Jamie's help. Confused and slightly annoyed, Jamie shut off her fourwheeler and wandered over to the guys. As she approached, Erin pulled out her phone to start recording. Lake snuck up behind Jamie and got down on one knee. He started with, "I have something that I think you've been wanting for awhile." Jamie turned around to fine Lake on one knee with a ring in his hand. Immediately, Jamie started crying with excitement. She said yes! Lake slid the ring on her finger and that's when everyone started cheering, even the dog jumped with excitement!
