If you are using a ride sharing service, a taxi service, or your phone's GPS, it's very important that you use the address 3300 Golf Road, Brookfield, IL. Standard mapping services will take you to the North Gate of the Zoo, which is not the correct entrance. Weddings guests are taken in through the South Gate of the Zoo, located off Golf Rd.
In order for the ceremony to start promptly at 6:00 p.m., it is important that guests arrive on time. Since there will be Friday afternoon traffic to fight, we recommend giving yourself more than enough time to arrive at the Zoo and get to the ceremony site. And don't worry about getting there too early - it's a Zoo! There's lots to see.
Welcome to Chicago in spring! The weather is completely unpredictable and out of our control. However, the Zoo will provide transportation in between locations, our reception site has a coat closet, and there's an open bar. We hope that makes it a little better.
Everyone can take the shuttle, but unfortunately not everyone will be able to take the shuttle. Due to the shuttle's limited capacity and the time it takes to travel round-trip between the hotel and the Zoo, not every wedding guest will be able to take advantage of the shuttle. If you are familiar with Lyft or Uber, these are both great options, and we are reaching out to the Zoo to find out more information about guests leaving their cars overnight. We will provide information on that as soon as possible!
Don't worry - Zoo staff will be present throughout the entire wedding and they will be able to escort anyone safely back to the South Gate whenever you need to leave.
Because the bride doesn't normally dance! My favorite joy at weddings is to talk to my friends and family until I completely lose my voice - literally. I will probably spend part of the night on the dance floor, but don't worry if you see me sitting and visiting most of the time. : )
